Valentine’s Day is on the 12th. Feb. while Cap Goh Meh is the last day of Chinese New Year which is on 17th. Feb. this year. Chap Goh Meh is similar to Valentine’s Day but only Chinese celebrates it in South East Asia. It originates from Penang, Malaysia. It is known that young unmarried maidens throw tangerines into the sea in hope that their future bride groom will pick it up. Written on the tangerines is usually the maiden’s phone number.
