Creepy History Facts

November 6th, 2009

In all my years in school, history has got to be my most hated subject ever. If only our syllabuses had anything like the uncanny history lesson I’m about to share with you, I’d probably have aced all my papers. Check these creepy history facts out.

Did you know, that

1) In 1846, Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress and 100 years later in 1946, John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress.

2) Lincoln became President in 1860 and sure enough, in 1960, a century later, Kennedy was elected President.

3) Lincoln and Kennedy were both shot on a Friday AND in the head. Freaky, I know. You ain’t seen nothing yet.

4) Lincoln had a secretary called Kennedy, and shockers, Kennedy had a secretary called Lincoln.

5) After their assassination, they were both succeeded by men named Johnson.

6) Lincoln was succeeded by Andrew Johnson, born in 1808, and Kennedy was succeeded by Lyndon Johnson who was born… freakzoids, in 1908!

7) The man who killed Lincoln, called John Wilkes Booth, was born in 1839 while Lee Harvey Oswald, the assassinator of Kennedy was born in 1939.

8) Booth shot Lincoln in a theater and hid from the cops in a warehouse. Oswald shot Kennedy from a warehouse and hid in a theater.

9) Both Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials began.

10) This last fact will blow your socks off. According to history, one week before he was shot, Lincoln was in Monroe, Maryland. One week before Kennedy was killed, he was with Marilyn Monroe.

Sheesh.. now don’t tell me that didn’t send a chill down your spine.
